Choose File | Options and switch to the Spelling tab.
▪Spelling
| Set the language for the spell check and hyphenation. It is important that the set language matches the language of the document. If you omit this step, a correct spell check will be impossible, and the removal of hyphens will fail. |
| FlexiPDF is supplied with spell check dictionaries in the common languages (see also note below). If you select a less widely spoken language, FlexiPDF will prompt you to download the dictionary for the spell check from the SoftMaker website. The dictionaries for hyphenation are always available in all supported languages. |
| The spell check dictionaries are not from SoftMaker but from the open source project Aspell. |
▪Skip UPPERCASE words during spell check
| This option lets the spell check skip all words that only consist of uppercase letters. |
▪Skip words with numbers during spell check
| This option lets the spell check skip all words that contain numbers. |
▪Skip words with non-Latin characters
| The spell check skips all words that do not contain Latin characters, such as Arabic or Cyrillic characters. |
▪Hyphenate words when editing
| In order for text to fit better into the available space, FlexiPDF performs hyphenation at suitable points. If you don't want this to occur, disable automatic hyphenation here for the entire document. |
To disable hyphenation for one paragraph only: With the Text edit tool  , click in the paragraph and choose the ribbon command Review | Disable hyphenation  . |
Note: Hyphenation only works if you have formatted text as justified.
Note: Pre-installed dictionaries
Spell check dictionaries in common languages (such as German, English, etc.) are always included directly when FlexiPDF is installed.
If you cannot select these common languages directly, however, and FlexiPDF prompts you to download the corresponding dictionary each time, you will have to reinstall FlexiPDF. To do so, download and install the latest version of FlexiPDF from the SoftMaker website.
