Document properties, Custom tab

On the Custom tab in the dialog box of the ribbon command File | Properties doc_prop_icon, you can insert your own custom information on the properties of the current document.

In addition to the information that you can enter in the Document summary, which consists of predefined entries (subject, author, keywords, etc.), you can create your own entries on the Custom tab and add information to them.

You can use the data you entered, for example, to read out your documents according to certain properties.

To create custom document properties, proceed as follows:

1. Choose the command File | Properties doc_prop_icon and switch to the Custom tab.

2. Under Name, enter the desired label for the document property.

3. Under Type, select the data type (Text, Date, Number or Yes/No) and then enter the Value for the new property.

Please note: If you select the "Number" data type, for example, a number is expected in the Value input field and a valid date format is expected for the "Date" data type. Otherwise, the value will be saved as text.
Valid date formats:
DD.MM.YYYY
DD/MM/YYYYY
DD-MM-YYYY
DDMMYYYY
MM/DD/YYYY
MMDDYYYY
YYYY-MM-DD
YYYYMMDD

4. Click on the Add button. The newly created document property is now displayed in the list below.

If you would like to add more custom document properties, repeat step 2.

5. Finally, confirm your entries with OK.

The new properties are now assigned to the current document and can be permanently accessed for this document after saving.
