When you group several objects, you combine them into a unit that can be selected and manipulated like a single object.
In practice, this means the following:
If you select an object that belongs to a group, the entire group is selected. If you move this object, all objects in the group are also moved.
Grouping also prevents related objects from being inadvertently moved against each other with the mouse.
To group objects, proceed as follows:
1. | Select the objects to be grouped. |
To do so, click on the objects successively while holding down the Shift keyñ. |
Alternatively: Switch to Object mode ![]() |
2. | Click on the Group icon ![]() |
Ungrouping objects
To ungroup objects, proceed as follows:
1. | Select the group by clicking on one of the objects in it. |
2. | Click on the Group icon ![]() |
