You can use the command Home | Format painter to instantly transfer the character formatting (font and font size, text styles, etc.) from one character to other characters.
To do so, proceed as follows:
1. | First, select the character whose format you want to transfer. You can also select multiple characters; however, they should all have the same character format. |
2. | Click on the Format painter icon on the ribbon tab Home | group Edit. |
The mouse cursor then changes into a brush: |
3. | Drag the mouse (with the mouse button held down) over the characters to which the format is to be transferred. |
Tip: If you press and hold the Ctrl key while you do this, both the character formatting and paragraph formatting will be transferred.
4. | If you want to transfer the format to other pieces of text, repeat step 3. as often as required. |
5. | When you are finished, click on the Format painter icon again or simply press the Esc key. |
