The data points of a chart can be labeled. This allows you to display the exact value of the data points in the chart.
To show or hide data labels, proceed as follows:
Via the "Add chart element" icon
Select the chart and use the ribbon command Chart | Add chart element to choose the entry Data labels. In the following submenu, you can choose between different options for positioning the data label (left, centered, above, etc.). A check mark in front of it indicates the setting which is currently enabled.
If you choose the entry None, the data labels will be removed.
Tip: To remove a single label, select it and press the Del key.
The entry More takes you to the dialog box with additional options (see below).
Via the dialog box
For additional options for data labeling, choose the path via the dialog box:
1. | Select the chart by clicking on it. |
2. | Use the ribbon command Chart | Add chart element to choose the entry Data labels and select More in the following submenu to open the dialog box. |
Alternatively: Select the desired data series and right-click to open the context menu and select the entry Series: Properties. |
3. | Switch to the Data labels tab and make the desired settings here. |
