On the Review tab in the dialog box of the ribbon command File | Properties 
, you can make settings for the Comments function for documents.
In addition, this tab also contains the document-specific (not global) settings for the Track changes function.
The options in the "Comments pane" section are used for both functions, as both comments and track changes are displayed together in the comments pane.
