ROW (row number of cells)

Syntax:

ROW([Reference])

Description:

Returns the row number(s) of a cell reference:

If Reference is a single cell, the row number of this cell is returned.

If Reference is a range of cells, their row numbers are returned as a vertical array. Note: In this case, the formula has to be entered as an array formula (see Working with arrays).

If Reference is omitted, the row number of the cell that invokes this function is returned.

Example:

ROW(D2) returns 2

ROW(D2:F4) returns {2;3;4}

ROW() returns 5 when you use this calculation in cell A5
